Entry And Testing For Assisted Living Facilities

Mandatory entry and testing for assisted living facilities.

1). Applicability.

The requirements of this emergency rule apple to all assisted living facilities under chapter 429,F.S.

2). Definitions

“Infection control” means any duties carried out in furtherance of preparing for, responding to or recovering from Covid-19 Authorized under chapter 381, F.S

 

3). Mandatory Entry And Testing For Covid-19

A). Assisted Living Facilities shall comply with all department of health infection control Directives concerning staff and resident testing, including marking off-shift available at the facility for testing.

 

B). Assisted Living Facilities shall allow the Florida Department of health or its Authorized agents entry into the facility for the purpose of conducing Covid-19 infection control duties, and testing of residents and staff.

C). When the department of health or its Authorized agent enters the facility in its public health function for purposes of Covid-19 testing, Assisted Living Facilities shall require facility staff to submit to a Covid-19 test.

 

4) Revocation of License, Fines or Sanctions.

For A Violation of any part of this rule, the agency may seek any remedy Authorized by chapter 429. 

Part 1, or chapter 408, Part 11, F.S., Including but not limited to License revocation, license suspension, and the Imposition of administrative fines. Rulemaking authority, 429.41, 408.821 (4) FS. Law implemented 429.19, 429.28 429.41 FS.

THERE IS CURRENTLY NO VACINE TO PREVENT CORONAVIRUS DISEASE 2019 (COVID-19). THE BEST WAY TO PREVENT ILLNESS IS TO AVOID BEING EXPOSED TO THE VIRUS ( AND AVOID EXPOSING OTHER PEOPLE). HERE’S HOW:

Wash For 20 sec.

Wash hands often with soap and water - 20 seconds or longer (or use Alcohol-based hand sanitizer with a least 60% Alcohol.

Practice Social Distancing

If you are around other peopple, keep 6 feet between you when possible. Avoid hugs, handshakes, large gatherings and close quarters.

Wear A face Mask

Cover you mouth and nose with a cloth face cover when around others and out in public, such as the grocery store.

Get Tested

If you are concerned about your status, get tested for Covid - 19 at a testing site near you.

who do I do if I think I was exposed to coronavirus?

some people are at higher risk of getting very sick from Covid – 19. Here’s what to do if you think you may have been exposed to coronavirus. watch for symptoms

  • Clugh
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

People with Covid - 19 if you have these symptoms or combinations of symptoms:

Or at least two of these symptoms:

  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Repeated shaking with chills
  • Muscle Pain
  • Headache
  • Sore Throat
  • New Loss of Taste or smell

children have similar symptoms to adults and generally have mild illness.

Get Tested

If you are concerned about your status, get tested for Covid – 19 right away. even if you don’t symptoms, you can get tested.

Cover coughs and sneezes

Cover your mouth and nose with tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside or your elbow. throw used tissues in the trash. why? Droplets spread the virus. by following good respiratory hygiene, you protect the people around you from viruses such as cold, flu and Covid – 19.

Clean and disinfect High touch surfaces

Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. this includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks, if surfaces are dirty, first clean with detergent or soap and water, and then disinfest. most common EPA-registered household disinfectants, diluted household bleach solutions, and alcohol solutions with at least 70% alcohol solution if disinfectants are not available.
